All applicants are required to provide, as part of this application, either a Certificate of Insurance, an official insurer letter, or another acceptable form of insurance documentation. This document must confirm that the applicant holds a valid insurance policy specifically covering the Golf Cart. The submitted documentation must be in a form satisfactory to the Municipality and meet the following requirements:
- Identification of the Golf Cart - The insurance documentation must clearly identify the Golf Cart covered under the insurance policy.
- Minimum Liability Coverage - The insurance policy must provide a minimum of $2,000,000.00 in general comprehensive liability coverage for bodily injury, death, and property damage.
- Coverage for Municipal Road Use - The insurance documentation must explicitly state that the Golf Cart is insured for operation on municipal roads.
- Policy Validity - The insurance policy must be active and valid for the entire duration of the permit.
- Licensed Insurer - The insurance policy must be underwritten by an insurer licensed to do so in the province of Ontario.
If your Certificate of Insurance does not specifically state that the golf cart is insured for operation on municipal roads you must include a letter from your insurer stating the same.
