Indwell Charities, Housing Development

Municipal staff and community partners have been working to increase housing across the continuum. Housing Services Division continues to build and increase capacity for new affordable housing units but the need for truly affordable housing is great and they cannot do it alone. Partners in low-cost rental housing are critical, with over 900 households on the wait list and at least 160 households with no place to call home. To this end, Indwell purchased the vacant former St Ages School at 55 Croyden Street in Chatham to build up to 95 units to help people who need truly affordable housing with supports.
