Visitors to Chatham-Kent.ca can expect to see a new website later this year.

The Municipality's website is an important tool in delivering customer service, providing access to information and Municipal services, and offering an opportunity for residents to engage in their local government.

The current website was developed several years ago on the SharePoint 2010 platform, with an overhaul to support mobile optimization in 2016. With the SharePoint 2010 platform no longer being supported beyond October 2020, along with upcoming AODA WCAG 2.0 AA Standard accessibility requirements required by January 1, 2021, the Municipality will work to deliver an improved website as an opportunity to connect residents to Municipal services and information more effectively.

During elections and community meetings, the mayor and council heard from residents that the municipal website was not effective. In 2019, Council identified Community Engagement as a priority for this Council's term.

As an outcome of Council's strategy session, administration was tasked to redesign the website.

The goal of the project is to "refresh" the municipal website, making it more useful and user friendly.

Refresh CK communicates the goals of the project team, to ensure that the new website is: reliable, effective, functional, relevant, engaging, simple, and helpful.

Over the coming months, the Municipality will engage with residents to gather community and user input, feedback that will be used to deliver a website that is easy to use and provides enhanced customer experience while meeting the needs of residents.

There will be a variety of opportunities to get involved in this project, including;

  • Online surveys
  • Feedback forums
  • User interviews

All opportunities for engagement will be posted on this site throughout the process. Here you will find our survey as well as upcoming dates to get involved.
