Public powwow is all for all ages generally includes different types of dancing (sometimes competition), drumming, singing, socializing and food. An opportunity for lasting allyship in CK!
Small specialty food shops, book store, specialty shops (clothing, gift, etc with priority to locally sourced and created merchandise), cafes. Etc. High speed broadband Internet throughout. Small apartments for seniors and singles and artists. Public areas for small pop up displays oof art or information. A few Boardroom style areas for meetings.
with specialty coffee/tea eateries and windows nearby to see the snow falling and Christmas lights in December. A Chucky Cheese type restaurant with arcade games for children. A roller rink with an area for children learning. A Wild Zone ride area or Trampoline Park. A sports type bar/restaurant something like the Texas Roadhouse in the U.S.
A lot of ideas shared are worth considering: Indoor market, education, library relocate, theatre. Would suggest that it be a multi-use mix of retail, office and public service. But not exclusively one use. The exterior of this building has always been an embarrassment to the city group who approved. One of the ugliest buildings I've ever seen. It did nothing to promote the building nor its tenants, with its dark brick, low key minimal signage, lack of windows and lighting. Customers were deterred by poor security and safety, as well as its haphazard, dysfunctional parking lot design. Good luck to the new owners and thank you for taking on this community project!
