I have two young children and we often struggle to find a safe climate-controlled space for them to play and burn off energy when the weather is bad. Chatham has long and cold winters, and numerous days where it is raining or too hot and humid to play outside. Anytime I speak with other parents there is unanimous agreement that an indoor playground would be well received and used often in Chatham! I see this same sentiment in an overwhelming majority of the comments here too. Having a flagship/anchor facility like this would be a huge draw for families and get them in the area for other activities, shopping, dining, and entertainment. I see many other great ideas suggested by other commenters that could make this into the ultimate family-friendly destination (e.g. mini-golf, rock climbing, arcade, etc.) while making it attractive for teens too. If you are willing to be ambitious with the scale, I could see this drawing people from outside of CK and leading to local hotel/B&B stays, dining, and the like. We don’t seem have a large entertainment district (like something akin to Clifton Hill) and to me this is an obvious opportunity to elevate CK into not just one of the best places to live in the world, but also one of the best places for families to visit too. As a side note, when we do want to go to an indoor playground our only choice is to go out of town. Windsor, London, and even Kingsville (Colasanti's) all have indoor playgrounds within driving distance. We've been to many indoor playgrounds, and as a current example of one we think is done "best" we recommend checking out "Play Away" in London as a template to start from. But nothing beats The Wild Zone :) Thank you for believing in Chatham-Kent and we wish you great success with the DCC!
