Question on Municipal 2018 Election Ballot-Have Your Say

NOTICE OF INTENTION TO PASS A BY-LAW TO SUBMIT A QUESTION TO THE ELECTORS

TAKE NOTICE THAT the Council of the Corporation of the Municipality of Chatham-Kent will consider a by-law at the February 12, 2018 Council meeting beginning at 4 pm, that if approved, will place the following question on the October 22, 2018 municipal election ballot:

Effective the term of Council beginning December 2022, the number of Councillors in Chatham-Kent be reduced?

Council invites the public to express their views on the passing of the proposed by-law at a public meeting to be held on Monday, February 12, 2018 at 4:00 p.m. at the Civic Centre, Council Chambers, 315 King Street West, Chatham. The purpose of the public meeting is to hear any person in support or in opposition to the proposed by-law.

You can also provide your thoughts on the proposed by-law here. Final submissions need to be given by Monday, February 12 at 10 am.

Written submissions can also be submitted to Judy Smith, Director Municipal Governance/Clerk, Municipality of Chatham-Kent, 315 King Street West, Chatham, ON, N7M 5K8 or to ckclerk@chatham-kent.ca until Monday, February 12, 2018, at 3:00 p.m.
