Together CK Review Committee

What is Together CK?

Together CK (originally called the Community Partnership Fund) was established by Council in 2000, as a grant program using matching funding to promote community events within Chatham-Kent. Since its inception, the municipal grant program has leveraged municipal investment into $15+ million worth of community development projects and events and has encouraged widespread civic engagement and community improvement. Together CK invests in events and community projects that help Council make a difference and have an impact on our community.

Together CK Review Committee

The Together CK Review committee plays an important role in supporting local initiatives by reviewing grant applications and providing funding recommendations to Council. It is comprised of both municipal staff members and community volunteers who work together to evaluate applications and ensure funding is allocated in a fair and transparent manner.

Each year, Council invests in projects and events that enhance the quality of life in Chatham-Kent. Through the Together CK Grant Program, eligible organizations can apply for funding to support initiatives that benefit the community. As a competitive, application-based program, funding decisions are based on a variety of factors, including project impact, community benefit, and overall project cost.

In general, the role of a Review Committee is as follows:

  • Review applications for Community Partnership Fund grant program
  • Evaluate applications based on the grant program evaluation criteria
  • Make recommendations in the form of a report to Council on how grant funds are to be allocated

Why Volunteer for this Committee?

Volunteering to be on the Review Committee is a great way to give back to the community and make a positive impact on the lives of those in need. By participating in the review process, volunteers have the opportunity to make a difference in their community by helping to allocate funding to the organizations that can have the greatest impact.

Residents interested in contributing their knowledge, experience, and community perspective are encouraged to apply. Applicants should expect to commit 30 hours annually each Fall to review and score Together CK grant applications.

Successful applicants will be appointed for the current term of Council. Applications will be evaluated based on relevant experience, including volunteer involvement, committee participation, and other skills that would support the committee's work.

Committee Member Commitment:

  • Applicants will be committing to four years on the review committee.
  • There will be one review period annually where members will review and score community applications.
  • Collaborative committee review meetings will be held either in-person or virtually as needed.

Application deadline is September 18, 2026.
