Bothwell Victoria Park Multi-use Sport Courts

The Municipality of Chatham-Kent invites the residents of Bothwell to provide comments on the planned renewal of the multi-use sport courts located in Victoria Park, 498 Elm Street West in Bothwell.

Community Input

The renewal of the multi‑use sport courts presents an opportunity to enhance safety, accessibility, and overall park use. The project seeks community input to better understand local needs and priorities, including preferred sports, inclusive design features, durability of materials, and integration with the surrounding park space.

What will the community input be used for?

Input will help inform the design to ensure the facility supports active recreation and reflects community priorities. The renewal of the multi‑use sport courts will include removal of the existing surfaces and installation of new, durable court surfacing with appropriate line markings to support multiple sports. The project may also address accessibility improvements, safety features, and drainage, as well as upgrades to court amenities such as fencing, and site finishes. Consideration will be given to integrating the courts with the surrounding park space to support safe, inclusive, and multi‑use recreational activity.

What are the next steps?

Based on municipal standards and the community's input, a detailed design will be developed by a consultant and then issued for tender pending budget approval.
