Sidewalk Winter Control

As of May 3, 2018, changes were made to the Minimum Maintenance Standards for Municipal Highways, O Reg 239/02 (“MMS”) including de-icing and patrol obligations for sidewalks.

Changes to C-K’s sidewalk winter control program are required and are estimated to create a significant impact to the winter control budget.

    Our sidewalk winter control survey is now open. Please click "Take Survey" to participate.

    The purpose of this survey is to capture the public’s viewpoint as to how Chatham-Kent should move forward to comply with new regulations required by the Ontario MMS. It will be open until July 26, 2019.

    In addition to the survey, an open house-style Public Information Centre (PIC) will take place at the Chatham-Kent Civic Centre on July 29, 2019 from 5 p.m. – 7 p.m.

    Results of the survey and PIC will be presented to municipal council.
