Business Licensing By-Law Review

The Municipality of Chatham-Kent is currently updating its Business Licensing By-law. Residents and businesses are invited to provide comments and input into the draft By-law.

The current Business Licensing By-law was passed in 2022. The review of the by-law is to ensure the by-law meets the current needs of the community and in the future. As a result of the review, significant changes have been made to the salvage yard schedule in the by-law as well as other administrative changes throughout more specially relating to adult entertainment, pay day loan and specialty vape stores.

Please review the following (available to the right) before providing comments:

Note: All proposed changes have been made in red in the By-law and Set Fines

Once feedback has been received, a summary of the comments and the proposed by-law will be forwarded to Council for consideration before the end of the year.


Comments will be received until November 18, 2025 at midnight.
