FAQs
What is Mobility?
Transportation is defined as the act of moving people or goods while mobility considers more broadly how people travel through a community. Mobility includes options for getting around and accessing places like school, work, shopping or parks.
What is the Mobility Master Plan?
The Mobility Master Plan is a long-term plan that establishes the priorities, network improvements and policies and programs to support mobility for residents throughout Chatham-Kent. This includes recommendations for walking, cycling, public transit, driving and goods movement.
How does the Mobility Master Plan relate to other plans and studies?
This Mobility Master Plan will update and consolidate Chatham-Kent’s previous Transportation Master Plan, Trails Master Plan and Transit Plan. This new plan will lay out an overarching strategic vision and priorities for all modes of transportation and develop an implementation program.
How will this plan affect me?
The Mobility Master Plan outlines network and policy changes that will help expand and improve options for getting around our community.
How can community members get involved?
There will be multiple ways for community members to get involved. Stay tuned for the announcement of the first public information centre in April, which will include an in-person event as well as information shared on this Let’s Talk page for engagement. As the project continues, information will be shared on the webpage for the community to review, provide comments, and follow along as the study progresses.
